Hello,
I shall be you or your child's Social Studies teacher for the 2012-2013 School year at Grant High School. On subsequent pages (with links at the top of this page) each weeks lesson plans will be posted; and all of the weeks assignments assignments will be listed. There shall be a great deal of work each week, and numerous quizzes, vocabulary activities, Primary Source Reading Exercises, and Enrichment Activities. This is in addition to Problems of the Day for The Common District Assessment, and another question each day for the End of Course Test in American History.
The End of Course Test will be given to each student taking U.S. History. The Students must pass the test in order to receive credit for the course. For this reason, I shall be giving these questions to my 10th Grade Civics Students as well as my 11th Grade U.S. History Students.
Because of the importance of the information in both of these classes, if you have specific questions about an assignment, I can be reached at my homework Hotline email address:
I shall check my email at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00, most evenings and respond to any questions. Parents should feel free to contact me at this address as well, and I shall get back to them as quickly as possible.
My job is to teach children, and that requires effort. The students in my class this year will be challenged, and they will learn. They will be asked to do a great deal of work, most of which shall be completed in the classroom. Each student shall have at least one chance to earn a grade per day, and mant times they shall have more than one opportunity. Please feel free to contact me via email at any time and I shall get back to you as quickly as I can.
Sincerely,
D. W . Reimer, Sc.D.
